Leigh 26 – 32 Toulouse

Toulouse Olympique earned their first win at LSV, making a stunning comeback after being reduced to 12 men and trailing 20-6 early in the second half.

The visitors scored three tries in the last eight minutes to complete an amazing turnaround with fullback Mark Khierallah their star turn. When Man of the Match Liam Hood went over for his second try five minutes after the re-start his side looked in control, particularly as the visitors were short-handed after Eddy Pettybourne was shown a straight red on 37 minutes for an alleged high tackle on Jamie Acton. Leigh had overcome the loss of an early try to Rhys Curran to bounce back, Matty Dawson-Jones scoring twice in the corner and Hood twice crashing over on the back of good go-forward. But Gavin Marguerite sparked the Toulouse fightback after Paul Marcon knocked back a kick to the corner and then Bastien Canet blasted over from close range.

Ilias Bergal went over for his third try in two games to seemingly put Leigh back in command, leading 26-16 with just 14 minutes remaining.

But the visitors finished in devastating fashion and quick-fire tries by Kheirallah and Marguerite got them on level terms before Stanislas Robin raced over for the clincher two minutes from time.

Leigh’s third defeat in four games sees them languishing in ninth place in the Betfred Championship.
