Scottish International Nick Glohe Links Up With John Duffy Again At Leigh Centurions

Leigh Centurions are delighted to confirm the signing of Scotland international forward Nick Glohe for the 2020 season.

Glohe is a player Leigh head coach John Duffy knows well having worked with him as part of the Scotland national team set-up.

Predominately a second rower, 27-year-old Glohe joins Leigh from the Lakes United club in Australia; he has also represented the University of Newcastle.

Glohe said: “I’m very much looking forward to playing for a club with such a proud history and great loyal supporters.

“Pre-season in the winter is something foreign to me and I have no doubts it will be a tough one but I’m keen to get stuck in with the lads and set ourselves up for strong season.

“I know a few of the lads from Scotland so I’m looking forward to linking up with at club level as well as Duffs who I know will have the boys firing come first round of the season. I’m anticipating a tough season but ready to play my role in a successful year for the club in 2020.”

Duffy said: “I have worked with Nick at Scotland international level. He has a British passport and moved to Australia with his parents when he was very young.

“He’s a great lad and I think the fans will really take to him and enjoy watching him play. Nick really impressed me last year in the national camp, I’m glad to get him on board.

“Nick is a primary school teacher and we’ll be looking to get him some work around Leigh. He is backing himself by paying his own air fare over here, looking for a job and a place to stay.

“It was a no brainer for me to bring him here and I’m excited to work with him again.”
