Leigh Centurions are saddened to learn of the death in hospital in Spain of their well known ex-player Stan Walmsley at the age of 76. Stan, a former Leigh Grammar School pupil turned professional with his hometown club from Tyldesley RU in 1959 for the princely sum of £300 despite offers from several other clubs.
