Leigh Centurions Head Coach John Duffy has confirmed his Captain and Vice Captains ahead of the 2020 Betfred Championship season.

The announcement was revealed on LCTV, the Club’s own subscription TV channel which will regularly feature exclusives during the coming season.

Danny Addy has been awarded the honour of Club Captain, replacing the retired Micky Higham in the role.

Liam Hood and Ben Reynolds will be the Centurions’ Joint Vice Captains this season.

John Duffy told LCTV: “Danny Addy has stood out since day one. I’ve worked with him before at Scotland, so I’ve always known he’s had those leadership qualities in him.

“He’s not always been allowed to show those qualities with Scotland, but I’ve always seen Danny as a true leader, on and off the pitch. He is someone who the boys look up to.

“He deserves the captaincy this year and I want him to be the best captain this club has ever had. I am sure he will do a really good job for us this season. “Danny got a bit emotional when I asked him to do the job.”

Danny Addy is proudly sponsored by Chassis & Cab.

Liam Hood (#HN1410) and Ben Reynolds (#HN1398) have also both shown the qualities Duffy has been looking for during pre-season.

Explaining his choices as Vice Captains, Mr Duffy said: “Liam Hood has really stepped up this year. He has trained the house down.

“He’s made some changes in his life – he’s just got engaged to his partner and is settling down. He is someone who the lads listen to.”

Liam Hood is sponsored by Caton Lloyd Audio Visual Solutions.

“Based on the last eight weeks Ben Reynolds has been phenomenal,” Mr Duffy added. “He’s been sensational, and I think the fans will like the way he’s looking.

“Ben and Liam both know the club and know what the fans expect from their players.”

Ben Reynolds’ sponsor for 2020 is Struktura Engineering Services.
