On Saturday (18th September) was the official opening of the Ateam Hub, a Special Educational Needs Children’s Centre. The Centre was opened by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and the Leigh Centurions First team squad players.

The hub is the brain-child of the Centurions Community Foundation (Leigh Community Trust) and is located in the Leigh, Wigan Borough. The hub is open to all families of children living with autism and other S.E.N diagnosis living in the Borough and surrounding areas in the North West providing a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 2-16 years old providing a one-stop shop for sensory needs, parent workshops/training, therapeutic and social communication activities, activity clubs, movement/free play sessions and sibling clubs.

The foundation has been working with children living with autism and their families for three years now through our already established Sky Try delivery, Ateam physical activity sessions and our COVID-19 respite sessions.
