One of the Leigh Centurions’ fans favourites, Adam Sidlow, was a welcome visitor to the offices earlier and told us he can’t wait to get started with pre-season training.

“I had a three-day sightseeing trip in London after the Huddersfield game but apart from that I have been doing some gym work and relaxing ahead of pre-season training,” he said.

Asked about 2022, Adam said: “Promotion is the only thing I am focussing on. Several sides have recruited well, and I expect Featherstone Rovers, Newcastle and Bradford Bulls to be our main rivals and threats.”

Adam, who has a lot of experience playing in the Championship added: “It’s more physical than Super League and some of the pitches aren’t as good as Super League, but that won’t hold us back.”

Looking back on the 2021 season Adam reflected: “We grafted every week in training, and we knew as a group the first win was not far away. The feeling after the win over Salford was incredible and my reaction to scoring that try in front of the North Stand, I think, said it all.”

In closing Adam mentioned the new signings and said, “I know Chris Chester has been busy so far with recruitment, but I am really pleased with the signings of Joe Wardle, Chris Green and Mark Ioane who along with Aaron Smith should help us a lot making an impact in games.”
