The Board of Directors at Leigh Centurions have reviewed the ticketing pricing in line with some observations made by spectators.

The club is proud to play in the fantastic facility at Leigh Sports Village, with arguably the best playing surface in the country, that houses a Rugby league team.

It is also proud of the facilities that are provided to attract and train its full-time squad which has received significant investment from the club’s owner to facilitate that recruitment and that of a quality back-room staff.

This level of facility obviously comes at a cost which our supporters have always recognised and appreciated. As with many things in life you get what you pay for, and it could be argued that what we provide represents the best value for money in the competition. We also provide ample free car parking for both home and visiting spectators within the sports village itself which at many stadiums is either chargeable or unavailable.

However, when undertaking the review, the board did consider that visiting spectators do not have the opportunity of a £23 ticket which is available to home spectators. This further led the board to consider that some spectators who are unable to stand for the duration of the game are therefore left with no alternative other than to purchase the higher priced ticket. Having considered this situation, the board no longer believes there should be a price difference between the North Stand and other stands in the stadium.

Therefore, with immediate effect all future match tickets will be based on the pricing of the North Stand. There will be no retrospective refunds on previous tickets for games that have already taken place.

However, the board recognises those that have purchased a season ticket for the West Stand should receive a retrospective discount based on the games that are left. Those discounts will be refunded by way of a credit note that can be requested by the season ticket holder should they wish to claim the discount by 31st March 2022.

The credit note can be used for any future match ticket, season ticket or club shop purchase. The discounts available for a credit note are as follows:

With regards to the upcoming Betfred Challenge Cup fixture the entrance fees were agreed by both clubs. However, having considered that the tie will now take place on the Monday evening both clubs feel that it is more befitting to change the entry pricing as follows:

With regards to anyone who has already purchased a ticket for this game from either club, you will need to contact the ticket offices directly to arrange a refund, for the difference in ticket price.

The game will be an emotional affair for those attending, given that earlier that day the funeral of club legend Des Drummond will take place. The RFL have agreed that one minute’s silence can take place prior to the game and that the teams can wear black armbands to show their respect. The Board of Directors would also like to thank Widnes Vikings and their players for agreeing to wear them.

The Leigh players will also warm up in a specially designed Ellgren tribute top to the late Des Drummond and the board would like to thank the player sponsors for agreeing to this request. At the start of the second minute of the game there will be a tribute to Des on the LED perimeter boards in the ground and we would respectfully request all spectators to pay their respects by applauding for the two-minute duration of that tribute.
